WHAT IS ARM LIFTING?
An arm lift surgery aims to correct sagging in the arms caused by aging or rapid weight loss. It restores the arm's former shape, achieving a tighter and more aesthetic appearance.
WHO IS IT SUITABLE FOR?
- Those with sagging arms due to aging.
- Those experiencing loose skin in the arms as a result of weight fluctuations.
PRE-OPERATIVE PREPARATION
Smoking should be stopped at least 2 weeks before surgery, and any medications being used should be disclosed to the doctor. Blood-thinning medications should be adjusted if necessary.
SURGICAL PROCESS
The surgery, performed under general anesthesia, usually takes 1-2 hours. Excess skin and fat tissue are removed, and liposuction may be applied if necessary. The incision line is typically located on the inner or back side of the arm.
POST-OPERATIVE RECOVERY
Patients may be discharged on the same day. It is recommended to use an elastic bandage or arm corset for the first 2-3 weeks. Scars start to fade from the third month after surgery and typically become less noticeable within 6-12 months.
ARE THE SCARS PERMANENT?
Arm lift surgery leaves permanent scars, but these scars fade over time. They are generally considered an acceptable trade-off for achieving tighter and better-shaped arms.
